States that require motorcycle insurance have their own minimum liability coverage guidelines for riders. Three numbers represent these coverages. The first represents bodily injury to one person injured in an accident. The second represents bodily injury to all people injured in an accident and the third represents property damage.

Illinois motorcycle insurance requirements are the same as car insurance requirements. To be compliant with Illinois law, you must at least the following coverage amounts:

  • $25,000 of coverage for injuries to or death to a single person in an accident
  • $50,000 of coverage for injuries to or deaths of more than one person in an accident.
  • $20,000 of property damage coverage per accident.

Riders can choose to add additional coverage and endorsements for additional costs.
