Illinois Requirements

Some states require motorcycle insurance to have their own coverage guidelines. There are three numbers to represent these coverages. The first represents bodily injury to one person injured in an accident. The second represents bodily injury to all people injured in an accident. The third represents property damage.

Illinois motorcycle insurance requirements are the same as car insurance . For instance, to follow Illinois law, you must at least the following coverage amounts:

  • $25,000 of coverage for injuries to or death to a single person in an accident.
  • $50,000 of coverage for injuries to or deaths of more than one person in an accident.
  • $20,000 of property damage coverage in case of an accident.

Riders can choose to add additional coverage as well as endorsements for extra cost.
