Halloween 2020: Trunk-Or-Treat

Trunk or Treat Event

Although the status of Halloween 2020 has been unclear, we can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that COVID-19 did not stop us from having fun, safely. Last week, I wrote a blog about safe ways people can celebrate Halloween this year, and this week we put it into practice. The Town of Cicero held a Trunk-or-Treat event so that children could still participate in the festivities. And where there are trunks and treats, there is Insurance Navy.

Trunk-Or-What?

For those of you who do not know, a “Trunk-or-Treat” event means people decorate their cars in Halloween costumes/themes.  In this case, The Town of Cicero had local businesses, such as us, bring out cars for decorating and handing out candy.

Cars In Costume

As you can see, we used a company car plus a tent and tables to display our candy and decorations. We used spiderwebs, tissue, lights, and dangling decorations to make us look extra spooky.

Preparing For The Crowds

With a crowd of about 1500 children and parents, there were plenty of costumes, candy, and trick-or-treaters. It all started with the setting up and decorating of our cars/tents along with the other business who attended. We did our best to make Halloween 2020 one to remember, and we had a blast seeing all the costumes and handing out candy.

Special Appearances

Everything went without a hitch, with the event lasting from 4 PM to about 7 PM. Our team was able to snap some great pics with children in costume and even ran into a few of our customers as well! We had special appearances by some famed characters such as Sonic, Pennywise, a brave astronaut, for example.

Thanks For Coming!

We want to extend a special thank you to the Town of Cicero for putting together such a large event, safely. Providing a safe way for kids to celebrate the spooky season is important this year. And it brought us great joy to be apart of it. If you live in the Cicero area and would like to celebrate Halloween safely, there will be another opportunity Saturday, October 31 2020 from 1 PM until 4 PM.
