The State of Illinois has enacted a new law allowing documented immigrants and undocumented aliens (non Visa status) to obtain a temporary drivers license. Rules are slightly different, but non-visa-status individuals can call 855-236-115
5 to schedule an appointment for a driver's license. The new license will be valid for three years only and may be used to prove eligibility for driving only, not as an identification. The TVDL does not allow holders to board a plane, enter a federal building, or apply for a FOID, for instance.
Drivers with Temporary Visitor Driver's License TVDL will be required to provide insurance for all vehicles they drive. Failure to provide proof of insurance may result in suspension of the TVDL. The same requirements of insurance apply on drivers with temporary driver's license. Minimum of $20/40/15 limits are required.
Insurance Navy provides all insurance required for drivers with TVDL. We offer liability insurance, physical damage, and uninsured motorist coverage. We offer coverages from multiple insurance companies, something that makes our price competitive and affordable.
